Prairie Spirit United Church has a number of ways in which you can contribute to the life and work of our congregation. 

Prairie Spirit offers seven ways to provide a financial contribution:

1. Signing up for PAR is an easy way to support Prairie Spirit
PAR (Pre-Authorized Remittance) is an easy way you can make regular financial contributions to Prairie Spirit. The amount of your choice is donated directly from your bank account each month. 2. Online through CanadaHelps
You can give to Prairie Spirit online using your credit card through the secure website from CanadaHelps. You can choose a one-time donation or set up an account for annual or monthly gifts. Select specific areas of our Church Budget that you wish to support from the drop down menu.

To donate to Prairie Spirit online through CanadaHelps, follow these steps:
1. Visit
2. Select how you want to give: give once, give monthly, or give a security or mutual fund.
3. Enter the amount you want to give (for the first fund e.g. Local)
4. From the drop-down menu, select which fund you’d like your contribution to go to. (Local, Mission & Service, Building Fund, Food Bank, Other)
5. Optional: You can choose to make a donation in honour or in memory of someone.
6. Click “Continue with My Donation”
7. On the next screen, you can select “Add Another Donation” if you’d like to make a contribution to more than one fund. Search “Prairie Spirit United Church” and repeat steps 2 – 6 above.
8. Enter your contact information, your tax receipt preference, and payment information.
9. Click on “Complete Donation”

Donations can also be made directly to 1JustCity and its member charities by searching “1JustCity”. If you’d like your contribution to be directed to a specific program or one of the member charities such as Just a Warm Sleep, St. Matthews-Maryland Community Ministry, West Broadway Community Ministry, or Oak Table, please indicate this in the message field.

3. E-transfer
You can send an e-transfer to In the message box, please indicate which fund(s) you’d like your contribution allocated to.

4. Offering Envelopes
Offering envelopes are ideal for those attending worship services who want to contribute on a regular basis. To arrange to receive offering envelopes, contact the church office at 204-832-1000 or

6. Legacy Giving
Legacy (planned) gifts such as annuities, bequests, gifts of insurance, or trusts benefit both the church and the donor. You may make a gift of any amount and direct it to any area of our church’s work.

7. United Way Directed Contributions
You can direct your United Way donation to Prairie Spirit by informing the campaign director at your workplace.

Additional Information for Tax Purposes
Prairie Spirit United Church is a congregation of The United Church of Canada and is a registered Canadian charity. Tax receipts are issued for contributions received in the previous calendar year each February.

Tax receipts for contributions made through CanadaHelps are issued electronically by CanadaHelps.

Tax receipts for United Way directed contributions are issued by the United Way.
