This Sunday: “The Road to Emmaus”
Reading: Luke 24:13-35
Somehow it doesn’t feel like Easter yet. The impact of COVID-19 and the uncertainties it brings rests on us like a burden, and now the devastating deaths of innocent people in Nova Scotia overwhelm many with one more experience of loss and we wonder where we find hope and resilience. The story of two disciples leaving Jerusalem and their chance meeting with a stranger may offer a glimpse of hope.
This Sunday, we will celebrate the sacrament of communion. For that you need to be prepared with something to eat (bread or a cracker work fine) and something to drink (juice, water, milk, or tea will all be appropriate, even wine.)
